By: Joseph Zimmerer
Capturing Modesto Hip Hop And Nightlife With Salva Gucci.
Over the last several years Central Valley nightlife has welcomed some lesser known hip hop acts that have risen to quite a bit of fame, many of which were introduced to Modesto California by a family of creatives called the A-Team, and if you were to take a peek on their social media pages you would find pictures of good looking, happy party goers, enjoying themselves, and behind the camera, Salva Gucci
Who is Salvagucci?
Salvador Segovia a creative born and raised in the Central Valley.
Tell us about how you got into photography?
My mom sparked an interest while watching her film all our family memories. Fast forward to my
teenage years I heavily got into skateboarding and I wanted to capture all the memories of the
crew skating. So I picked up a camcorder and started filming. A couple year later I upgraded to a DSLR camera and the rest is history.
What type of photos are you taking?
Nightlife, special events and concerts, but I also like to shoot portraits and product photography.
Name some concerts have you shot?
I’ve taken photos for our shows (A-Team) such as Shoreline Mafia, Larry June, Gwapdad 4000, All Black, all of which were in Modesto. As for out of town events, I was a part of the Bounce Back concert in Stockton that featured Y.G., Mozzy, Haiti Babii.
Do you have a group of photographers you work with or are you a stand alone photographer?
Yes, I’m a stand alone photographer but depending on the project I work alongside a team of
talented individuals.
What has been the highlight of your photography journey so far?
Being surrounded by creatives with different talents from DJs, photographers, videographers,
artists, and entrepreneurs.
Do you have a favorite photo you have taken? (Elaborate)
I have a couple important times in my life that I captured photos of, most of which got lost in my hard drive.
Puerto Vallarta, MX in 2022
My mom is from Puerto Vallarta so we went to visit my whole family. It was special. I was able to take photos of my grandparents. I don’t really have much family out here, so it meant a great deal to me.
Taking photos with Dj Gio for the first time. It felt like an introduction to the industry in the Bay Area. He will be missed.
Where can one get a hold of you(Insta, email, phone, website) stuff like that.
