Hypnosis Just Another State of Mind

You want to go to the State Theatre on August 6th, you need to go see John Farley perform feats of hypnotism, at the count of 3 you will go to www.thestate.org and purchase tickets. One, Two, Three. Did it work? Yes, great. Now, so you know what you are getting yourself into. John Farley Jr has been performing hypnosis around the country and has been seen on ABC, NBC, PBS: The content of Hypnotism remains a closely guarded secret, but if you’ve seen him before, you know that you will be crying with laughter!
MV-What can be expected at one of your live events?
JF-The live show “HYPNOTISM” in Modesto is extra special. I’ll be honoring the nearly two centuries that stage hypnotists have mesmerized crowds. The show gives the audience an opportunity to either “see the show or be the show” by being hypnotized by me live on stage. It’s both comedy hypnosis mixed with inspirational moments that those in attendance will remember for years to come. I want those fortunate enough to attend this one-night performance to laugh out loud and be inspired too.
MV-What got you into hypnotism/and in turn using it as part of a stage act?
JF-I was struck by lightning (just kidding ; ). I saw a stage show in college which influenced me. At that time I was studying sports psychology and reading about sports hypnosis. Eventually, this led to learning hypnosis from the old-time masters — the Yoda’s of their time. The hypnosis stage show is an opportunity to simultaneously entertain and educate many people at once. The show reaches those who would otherwise miss out on what hypnosis has to offer.
MV-What is the most enjoyable thing about doing events like the one you have scheduled at the State Theatre?
JF-Preparing for the show is enjoyable. That includes practicing for the show itself, but also working out — getting in great shape — it’s a good motivator. The most enjoyable thing during the show is the joy and the amazement that it brings the audience and the participants on stage. Laughter is a universal language. Inspiration is always welcome.
MV-Outside of hypnosis what is your career?
JF-Hypnotic weight loss and motivational speaking. Women and men who struggle with weight loss seek me out for success in that area. I also speak to business groups about goal achievement through subconscious programming.
