Due to a quick turnaround in the certification of votes from the Stanislaus County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, the swearing-in ceremony of Mayor-elect Garrad Marsh will take place on Tuesday, February 14, instead of the original date of February 28. A provision in the City Charter dictates that “the Mayor shall hold office for a term of four (4) years from and after the first Tuesday following the Mayor’s election and until the Mayor’s successor is qualified and elected.” The swearing-in ceremony will be held as follows: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 5:30 p.m. Council Chambers located in the basement of City Hall, 1010 10th Street
The reception honoring Mayor Ridenour and newly elected Mayor Garrad Marsh will still take place on February 28 as originally planned.
