Jazz&BluesView – Summer Blow Out

By Eric Benson

Live Music in the downtown
Blue Monday party goes to twice a month!

Well things are beginning to turn to normalcy a little at a time and the “smile is returning to their faces” as the song goes. Blue Monday Party now goes to twice a month with good turnout and the band plays on! In the band: John Adey and Conrad Johnson Bass, Andrew Rosenblum guitar and Sax, John Burt Sax, Dave Hawks and Jacob Goulat Drums and Eric Benson and Pat governor Keys.

The next Blow out is July 11th with Kent Grippinstraw Piano, and special guest, the legendary Rockabilly fireball Roddy Jackson on Organ, Dave Hawks Drums, John Adey Bass, Gene Radino Guitar and Andrew Rosenblum Sax. They will be playing some Jazz Standards and early Rock & Roll after the opening Jam. Café Urbano has a full bar and food available in a nice club environment 7 to 10 PM. Urbano also has DJ dancing Tuesday through Sunday featuring Latin Based music, check them out.

Summer is heating up and the Farmers Market downtown offers music and the county fair is back with a line up also so get out and make it happen.

Some great shows at Gallo Center for this coming season, but also check out some great venues out of town: Yoshi’s – Oakland best jazz shows, Khumba Music Center Santa Cruz and Piedmont Piano company and the Sound Room located in Oakland.

We are on the rebound from the global pandemic post-apocalyptic party so be a good human and get your soul vaccination at the vaccination station and stay boosted. Until our paths cross again, peace out!

All the best Eric Benson, peace out!
