Just Announced “38 Special” to Play at Stanislaus County Fair

The Wild-Eyed Southern Boys of rock ‘n roll return to Turlock for the 2017 Stanislaus County Fair.

38 Special will be performing Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Stanislaus County Fair on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The concert will be hosted by The Hawk 104.1 and will begin at 8:30 p.m. The concert is free with the price of Fair admission.

“This American rock band will enamor the eyes and ears of our Fair guests,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “It will be an iconic show for our rock ‘n roll lovers.”

After more than three decades together, 38 Special continue to bring their signature blast of Southern rock to over 100 cities a year. They bring their mix of “muscle and melody” to fans worldwide. Their many Gold and Platinum album awards stand in testament to the endurance of a legendary powerhouse. The co-founder of the group, guitarist/vocalist Don Barnes says that it is all about bringing a high level of intensity to their live shows.

“Live from Texas” is the perfect example of the explosive power that radiates from 38 Special’s arena rock-pop smashes. This live album includes every significant chart hit and fan favorite, from “Hold on Loosely” to “20th Century Fox”. 38 Special still has the magic and cannot wait to hear the crowd roar.

The 2017 Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 14th for a 10-day run. Fair guests can count on an award-winning experience that has been over 106 years in the making. The 2017 Fair will feature a spectacular children’s area presented by Sky Trek Aviation. Also, planned for 2017 are 10-nights of free celebrity concerts included with Fair admission, a total of three stages of live entertainment, upwards of 30,000 local exhibits and over 1,750 animals.  Metal-mashing motorsports and three nights of rodeo in the FoodMaxx Arena will also be featured.
