The Modesto Library, built in 1971, will close in late 2024 to undergo a
major revitalization including essential asbestos removal, lighting and
ceiling replacement, new carpet, and improved technology infrastructure
that will result in a better library experience. Basic renovation is
fully funded by state, county and other public monies, demonstrating our
community leaders’ belief in the importance of our library.
Additional funding is needed to elevate our library to become
the forward-focused facility that lays the foundation to serve all of our
community well into the future.
