MAMA View – Playlist

MAMA View Jill’s Playlist – by Jill Ferris I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I love January. Everyone is motivated, and in my particular circle of musicians and music lovers, that usually means new bands, music and ideas. So with no further small talk, let’s get down to the music. Hit and Run- “Walk with Me” – Rock/Hard Rock In the spirit of the New Year, I would like to start with the newest band Iknow of, in the Modesto scene. I was able to hear this band before they’d had recorded anything, and saying I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of talent is the understatement of 2011.They only have one song recorded as of now, but do yourself a favor and go check out the live show… made me an instant fan. Chad Seiverson – Acoustic/ solo If the name sounds familiar to you, it should! The lead singer of We The Same can now be found flaunting his mad skills by himself, all stripped down, (musically of course, don’t get your hopes up girls!) Now we get double the entertainment with We the Same and Chad both gigging around the valley. Bully the Kid- “Scabies” or “Hexes and Hoes” (already a good sign, I cannot decide between the two) – Punk/Alt Originally from NYC, this valley transplant will blow your mind! A punk sound that is so rockin, yet will have you screaming your head off in your best punk rock vocals. A big congrats to them for their recent signing with record label, 3BoyZ Promotions. Come out and see these guys locally while you still can! Scars Upon Stars – “Go Back to August” – Alt/ Pop/ Rock So excited to hear these guys are back at it! Their up-beat music will have you tapping your foot and singing along in no time. Show alert; Feb 24th at the Copper Rhino. Come out check out the live show, and pick up their 7 song self titled album.
