MAMAView: Post Pandemic Renaissance

Historically after a pandemic or any life-altering event on a major scale happens there is an explosion in creativity. We are not there yet(though I am looking forward to it) but we have seen many of our fantastic local entertainers back out and performing with a newfound joy. Hopefully, we will continue to be able to see these bands do what they love and be entertained by them and if we are lucky there will be volumes of new music to grace our ears in the near future.

The Modesto Area Music Awards will return after a year-long hiatus and hope to bring the pomp and circumstance that we have all come to know and love from the yearly awards show. There have been some changes with this year’s awards, first, the categories have been cut back to 14. The Award show will be indoors this year in order to. Mamanees and their guest are invited to attend the event which will be staged in the State Theatre on Tuesday, October 19th and begin at 6:30 pm.  State and CDC guidelines will be followed, masks are required inside the theatre and proof of vaccination or negative test may be required. We are narrowing down who will perform this year, they will showcase a mix of what the 209 has to offer.

Voting went live on September 15th and you will continue to be able to cast your vote until October 17th at 11:59 pm. Remember you only get one vote and must verify your email address for it to count. Take your time and go through all the categories and choose who you think should go home with the coveted carhop statue, you are the academy and your votes choose the winners. Good luck and congratulations to all the mamanees. www.modestoareamusic.com/vote

I always suggest you go out and check out as many of the MAMAneess as you can along with the venues that support live local music(you might just find a few new favorite.) Several mamanees have gigs scheduled at Ralston’s Goat, Rivet’s, P Wexford’s, Nino’s in Modesto, Cru and Udder Place in Turlock just to name a few over the next 3 weeks leading up to the awards show.

Venues and artists make sure to send your calendars of events to events@modestoview.com to be added to the in print and online calendars and to keep on the radar for next years Modesto Area Music Awards.
