We are on the brink of the least productive workdays in the USA as the NCAA Final Four approaches. Our local basketball season just wrapped up and a couple of our local teams are in regional tournaments. Just like the super-bowl, try to find one of your favorite watering holes with a lot of TVs to watch the playoffs and championships. We recommend stopping by our friends at Chopping Block for charcuterie boards and other deli treats. www.choppingblockmodesto.com<www.choppingblockmodesto.com>
Here is a quick cheater schedule so you know when to pretend to work.
• First Four: March 19-20
• First round: March 21-22
• Second round: March 23-24
• Sweet 16: March 28-29
• Elite Eight: March 30-31
• Final Four: Saturday, April 6
• NCAA championship: Monday, April 8
Celebrating Donny Wallace
A long successful sports chapter has closed as Modesto High Athletic director Donny Wallace hangs up his whistle. Modesto native and former star athlete, Donny returned to coaching after school. In his first year, he put a championship team together and a great career began. Donny has coached many different sports and has been a vital part of the Modesto High spirit and has influenced many players that also became coaches. Many friends and family all came out to celebrate Donny in the gym including members of the championship team, former students, fellow coaches and faculty. Congrats on a great career Donny Wallace.

Coaching for the future
“A lot of people notice when you succeed. But they don’t see what it takes to get there. That’s why I always vote for the underdog in the brackets”. There are few more enthusiastic people about our local sports than Coach Colin McBride. Local girl’s basketball really has a champion as this enthusiastic leader brings people together and uniquely, coaches at most of our local high schools. Colin is Modesto’s coach, and has been key to many of our local high school’s athletic departments. This year, Coach McBride will be coaching Enochs Freshman Baseball, MoHi Varsity football and just finished MoHi girls basketball. Coach is an avid supporter of our local dining and music scene and you can see him on his bicycle as he supports our city. Thanks Coach!
