MJC Agricultural Department Celebrates 61st Anniversary of Agriculture Open House
(Modesto, CA)—Modesto Junior College invites the public to the 61st Annual Agriculture Open House on Thursday, October 10, in the Agriculture Department building located on Coldwell Avenue on MJC’s East Campus. MJC Agriculture students will plan, construct and present displays, which feature the many Agriculture majors offered at the college. Displays will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. MJC extends a special invitation to former agriculture instructors and students to attend this 61st celebration.
In addition to the many displays, there will be a program honoring the 2013 Honorary Young Farmer Degree recipients. The program will occur from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the displays reopening after the program and remaining open until 8 p.m.
“The Agriculture and Environmental Sciences’ students and staff are excited about the opportunity to showcase the myriad of educational programs the department has to offer in the way of agriculture education, career preparation, and special programs,” said Mark Anglin, Dean of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences for MJC. Anglin added, “I would like to extend a special invitation to all alumni, MJC Agriculture professors’ emeriti, the community, industry partners, and friends to attend this annual event.”
Dinner tickets are available for $10 on a first-come first-serve basis. The tickets can be purchased in the Agriculture Division office on the MJC East Campus. Any questions, please call the MJC Agriculture Division office at 575-6200. Those not able to attend the dinner are invited to enjoy the program and displays free of charge.
