MJC Offers Warehousing, Logistics & Forklift Training

MJC offers training courses in warehousing logistics and forklifts (Modesto, CA) – Warehousing and distribution facilities are growing at a rapid rate in the Stanislaus and San Joaquin County area, and these industries seek workers who have the skills to hit the ground running. In response to this growing demand, Modesto Junior College’s Workforce Development and Community Education are offering training for entry-level positions in warehousing.

Students can prepare for Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certification Level I or Level 2. Successful students earn the nationally recognized MSSC Certificate for Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) or Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) Certificate. Course competencies include warehousing operations, information technology, inventory control systems, powered industrial equipment, order processing, evaluation of transportation modes, measurements and metric conversions, and safety.

The CLA and CLT training will be held Wednesdays, February 26, and March 5, 12, and 19, from 7 – 10 p.m. in Sierra Hall, Room 114, on West Campus. Online work outside of class is required for the CLA/CLT course. The course cost is $460 for either CLA or CLT training and the registration deadline is January 31. CLA certification is required before CLT enrollment.

A Scan Guns and Inventory Control Systems training course is being offered with a choice of two dates: Saturday, March 1, from 8 a.m. – 12 noon, or Saturday, March 22 from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. These classes are also held in Sierra Hall, Room 114, on West Campus and the cost is $150.
