MJC presents “Marginalized in America: A Continuing Conversation”
The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to “Marginalized in America: A Continuing Conversation” on March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Cafeteria on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. The free event is part of the CEP Spring Film and Lecture Series. Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.
This event builds on previous CEP events centered around continuing the dialogue on issues related to tensions between diverse communities and law enforcement.
This event will focus on the historical criminalization of people of color emphasized in the film 13th (shown on March 9). Guest speakers will build on issues from that film and allow for audience discussion throughout the event in small groups with trained dialogue facilitators.
The full CEP Spring Film and Lecture Series schedule is available online at: www.mjc.edu/president/cep/filmandlecture.
