MJC Theater presents Shakespeare’s tragic love story “Romeo and Juliet”

(Modesto, CA) –The Modesto Junior College Theater Department will stage William Shakespeare’s tragic love story “Romeo and Juliet” on March 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 & 28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 29 at 2 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto.

 

Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy tells the tale of star-crossed lovers caught between their families’ ancient and unwavering feud.

 

The cast includes Jonathan Smith in the role of Romeo, Marilyn Diaz playing Juliet, Joel Morrison as Friar Laurence, Ethan Hennes as Mercutio, Dain Morrison as Tybalt, Sean Trew as Sir Capulet, Samantha Bement as Lady Capulet, Nick Salvucci as Sir Montague, Michael Lynch as the Apothecary, Erin Isaacs as the Nurse, Philip Azevedo as the Prince, and Timothy Glidewell as Paris.

 

Professor of Theater Arts Lynette Borrelli-Glidewell will direct the MJC production.


Tickets for Student Preview Night on March 19 are $5, and all other performances are $8 for students and seniors and $10 general admission.  Tickets may be purchased at the Auditorium Box Office, Tuesday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m., or by calling the Box Office at 575-6776 during these hours.  Tickets may also be purchased online at http://mjc.tix.com.
