The Modesto Garden Club’s 2015 Spring Garden Tour takes place Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $20 ticket includes six gardens in Riverbank’s River Heights, the historic Bald Eagle Ranch gardens in rural northeast Modesto, and the demonstration gardens at the club’s Modesto office.
Visit modestogardenclub.org for online ticket purchases and vendor locations. Day of the tour tickets will be available at all vendor locations and the Modesto Garden Club Office, 622, 14th Street, Modesto.
Gardens may be visited in any order. Maps and helpful garden tour tips are included when you buy the tickets. Proceeds benefit local beautification projects, therapeutic gardening and horticultural scholarships. The club was organized in 1924.
The gardens, an eclectic mix of country and contemporary, provide the perfect spring day getaway, plus ideas to use in your own garden. The River Heights area is unique with rolling hills, bluff vistas and its country- city feel. A tour highlight will be the gardens of the Bald Eagle Ranch home, completed in 1893 for the Oramil McHenry family. Visitors will be able to admire the exterior architecture of the late Victorian/Queen Anne home.
