More Bang for your Racing Buck!
With so many races these days, it’s sometimes challenging to be able to afford to race them all. I myself, like most, have an allocated yearly racing budget. This is why I’ve adopted the idea to race the ones that are closest to my heart as well as the ones which give me the most for my racing buck. The Modesto Memorial Classic is one that does just that; proceeds in part benefit our Modesto Vet Center programs such as their recreational and social activities. This is a great way for all of us red blooded Americans to come out and show our love and support personally to our United States Veterans. As far as the races go, it’s one of my preferred when it comes to my racing dollars. The Modesto Memorial Classic offers 2 paved races, a 5K and a 1 mile. The race is at Tuolumne River park in Modesto and the course is covered mostly by shady trees with a beautiful river scenery. It also sports a free children’s fun run with Chester Cheetah, cash winning awards, raffles, Entertainment by The Quake DJ, a festival like atmosphere with vendor and informational booths; and if that wasn’t enough, each registered entry gets a pancake breakfast at the end of the run/walk. Still not convinced, well here’s the most important reason why you should run, walk or just simply attend The Modesto Memorial Classic. Entry fee includes a pancake breakfast prepared by The Modesto Vet Center.
A non- race entry pancake breakfast is only $5.00
Prize Money (5K only) to top 3 overall male and female runners and top 2 male and female master runners. Bonus to first male and female to break the overall 5K course records (14:42-17:49) Medals 3 deep (10 year age groups) in one mile. Medals 3 deep (5 year age groups) in 5K.
A fast shady course following the shores of Dry Creek. Great for P.R,s. 5K course is certified. The one mile is walker friendly. Tech T. Shirts guaranteed to pre-registered only.
A FREE Kids Run (10 and Under) will follow the 5K. Race day registration only.
