Modesto Nuts’ Final Season at John Thurman Field

As the Modesto Nuts embark on their farewell season at historic John Thurman Field, the opening weekend against the San Jose Giants and the first month of play will be filled with nostalgia, excitement, and memorable performances. The stadium, which has been home to professional baseball in Modesto since 1955, welcomed fans for one last opening day celebration on April 4th at 6:40 pm. Make sure to stick around after the game for a dazzling fireworks display. Make sure to come out early on April 5th at 6:40 pm when the first 500 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a 2024 California League Championship replica ring! On Sunday, April 6th at 1:40 pm, the Nuts finish the opening weekend against the San Jose Giants.
On Tuesday, April 15th, the Modesto Nuts will face the Inland Empire 66ers at 6:40 p.m. On Wednesday the 16th, the game will start a little early at 4:05 p.m., and if you bring two cans of food, you will get in for Free. On Thursday the 17th, bring your pups to the park, where things kick off at 6:40 pm. Friday is halfway to Halloween, and there will be candy. On Saturday, celebrate Latino heritage through the team’s alternate Latino identity – Los Alebrijes do Modesto. It will be a night of Latino entertainment, food & drink, and newly created alternate team Jerseys for 2025! The game starts Sunday at 1:40 pm and ends the first full week of the last season at John Thurman Field.
The San Jose Giants return on April 29th and 30th. They will face the 2023/2024 Champions, the Nuts, who are finishing out the first month of the last season for Modesto’s beloved baseball team.
It is a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye to the Nuts, John Thurman Field, the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, and the warm spring evenings that have created so many lasting memories for fans who have called this ballpark home for generations.
Each game will become increasingly precious as the season progresses, marking another chapter in the final story of professional baseball in Modesto.
