Modesto USA, A Classic American City

Every 4th of July it is time to celebrate
the ways that we are independent, the
ways we are special and the ways that
the USA and Modesto, USA are amazing.
Every 4th of July we think about the ways
we can make our country better, our city
better and celebrate our national and civic
pride. What better way to celebrate than
going to the Modesto 4th of July parade,
the longest continuously running parade
in California since 1874? This month,
our very own Ms. Modesto, Emilie
Haarsma wraps herself in national pride,
new Modesto Chamber of Commerce
CEO Cecil Russell shares the vision
for revitalization, an X-fest sneak peak,
insights from local musicians and we
give you a peek into legendary bars,
and new and exciting restaurants. And
of course, ModestoView gives you the
most awesome 100% positive and 100%

Our world famous Graffiti Summer
continues and as we celebrate the fabulous
4th, there are so many reasons to celebrate
Modesto. Classic cars and Graffiti spirit
are everywhere. Fabulous things are
happening in Modesto! Downtown
Modesto is important, but you might ask,
what about the rest of Modesto? Every
part of Modesto is important, but one
thing is true, for a city to be healthy, the
downtown core has to be economically
strong and culturally vibrant. This makes
our entire region better. It is the engine
that makes our car “Vroooom”.
Downtown is re-opening! Downtown
is re-welcoming! Downtown Modesto
wants you to know that families, couples,
singles, doubles, friends and soon to be
friends are all welcome. The city and
county vision directs the regional arts and
entertainment to be centered in Downtown
Modesto. We need to welcome and
support those who invest and visit.
Coming soon, the Modesto, USA
Historic Cruise Route will be a tourist
stroll educating and entertaining visitors
and residents alike and celebrating
our American Graffiti heritage.
GoDowntownModesto.com will be
a new website dedicated to all things
downtown. You will see new pavement,
new signs, new curbs, new banners and
a new “Ambassador” security patrol that
will keep us safe and be welcoming to our
visitors. There will be new and expanded
restaurants, more entertainment, more
live music. All of these things will make
every part of Modesto more interesting
and exciting. Just wait and see. Yes it is
