Mother’s View

Mother’sView
By Chris Murphy

You know the truth, every day is Mother’s Day, but every May, we make sure to all be on our best behavior and make sure that our Moms are truly celebrated. This is a special time to remember how important our moms are. Also, note, there are a lot of dads out there that are also moms to so many and we celebrate that. Let’s make sure to take time, spend some time and effort celebrating the amazing people that are raising us. You can really surprise your mom with beautiful flowers from the Modesto Farmer’s Market but what moms really want is time with their families and there are many fun things to do, or even just as simple as breakfast in bed, a donut from your fave donut shop or a hand made drawing. Mother’s Day is May 12 this year.

Ride For Mom
Do you want to cycle and celebrate mom at the same time? If so, we recommend the Ride For Mom, happening on May 11 beginning at Johansen Stadium. Created in honor of Bob Fores’ mom Jinx, Ride For Mom is designed to promote heart health and encourage people to stay active and have fun doing it. There is a 10 mile, 33 and an 77 mile ride and there are groups that ride at all speeds and there are regular rest stops so anyone can do it. There is a pre ride reception to pick up your ride package and there is a wonderful lunch prepared by Green’s and Concetta.
You can do it! See you at Ride for Mom.
