Non-Profit View
By Chris Murphy
We have so many wonderful non-profits in our community. Did you know that Modesto’s famous car shows are operated by non-profits? Did you know that the proceeds from these car shows go back into our community. The Modesto Street Rod Association presents the first big car show of the year at McHenry Village, the first Sunday of June. This year they celebrated the 70th of the Corvette and raised some much-needed funds for local non-profits.
This year at their annual meeting on August 8, 2023, the MSRA with leaders Steve Cunha, Jerry Sauls and Ray Lee donated proceeds to these really wonderful organizations: Children’s Crisis Center, Covenant Care Hospice, Making Strides for Cancer, Graffiti USA Museum
Tisha Chang & Janice Vella of Tiny Tims accepted for the Childrens’ Crisis Center. Cathy Morelli accepted the donation for Covenant Care Hospice. Cancer survivor Susie Power accepted for Making Strides for Cancer and Cecil Russell and Chris Murphy accepted for the Graffiti Museum.
Modesto is fortunate to have so many great volunteers and so many are grateful for these contributions. We thank the Modesto Street Rodders for their dedication and support.
The Modesto Area Street Rod Association is a small car club founded in 1975. They are recognized as Legends of the Cruise, Walk of Fame car club, dedicated to promoting the classic car hobby. They have donated $16,500 to non-profits this year.
