NonProfitView Haven Women’s Center There is an old saying: “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.” Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events ask men to literally walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. It’s not easy but it’s a playful opportunity to rally support in our community and raise awareness about the causes, effects and remedies for sexual assault and domestic violence.

The Haven Women’s Center deals with really serious issues protecting women and their families from assault and domestic violence. Their privacy and safety are the most important types of support our community can offer and assistance is needed from so many areas. This is a wonderful way to engage our community and get contribution while respecting a victim’s privacy.

Sign up, create a team and join together in Modesto on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Stanislaus County Courthouse for the inaugural Haven Walk a Mile for Stanislaus. To register and get involved, please go to www.havenwalkamile.org and start practicing on those stilettos.
