On Sunday, June 23, two-time Olympic gold medalist Erin Cafaro will be in attendance at John Thurman Field. Cafaro is a member of the women’s rowing team that has won the gold medal in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. Cafaro graduated from Modesto High School and even spent a summer working for the Modesto A’s. She took up rowing while attending University of California at Berkeley and the rest is history. In addition to her two Gold Medals, Cafaro has been named the US Rowing’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2009 and World Rowing Female Crew of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
