Our local actors and actresses cautiously return to the stage this month. The Gallo and the Prospect have strict vaccination requirements which is a great thing. We want a safe space so make sure you check the guidelines at each venue.
The Prospect Theatre continues with more innovative performances with My Favorite Wife, by Bella Spewack & Sam Spewack
Based on the 1940 film, Screen Directors’ Playhouse radio adaptation featured original cast members Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. In this story, Ellen Arden arrives seven years after being given up for dead in a shipwreck only to find her husband Nick just remarried to Bianca. The overjoyed Nick awkwardly tries to break the news gently to Bianca. But before he can do that, an unpleasant surprise – news that Ellen has spent the seven years on a deserted island with fellow-survivor Burkett. Nick’s jealously tries to find out the truth. Hilarious confusion reigns before Nick chooses his favorite wife.

Gallo Center gets going again. After some last minute reschedules, February is showing some great promise and some new additions! Kenny G will be playing his amazing sax on February 16. Bill Engval rescheduled to Feb 6 and there will even be a special Disney Princesses show on Feb 20. Our good friend and ModestoView designer Pete Grimaldi will perform some great zydeco with his Blues Box Bayou Band on February 19th. So much variety and great performances.
