Three-line poems don’t sound like much, but a good haiku can pack a punch!

A haiku is a small poem with immense power that resonates far beyond its words. I think of Modesto in the same way: a small town with immense power that can resonate far beyond the boundaries of the 99 freeway.
Publishing a Modesto Haiku Anthology means locking in our stories and feelings about our city in bite-sized poems. Every syllable reflects a bit of our shared experiences and each line speaks a truth about Modesto as seen through the poetic eyes of its citizens.

This anthology is more than literature; it’s a celebration of Modesto’s identity through the concise art of haiku in order to remind us that even small things can hold immense significance.
