Pre-Marathon Tips from FitView Editor

Sending this one out to all who will be running The Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon from your Modesto View FitView Editor Efren J

Play it smart, we will be dealing with a new beast this year, the heat! Make sure your taking in loads of water between now and Friday mid afternoon.

Then, take it back to your normal drinking regiment. Eat a few baked potatoes the night before and have your biggest carbohydrate meal Saturday morning/24-hours prior to your race.

Also, It might be smart to carry salt tabs and/or some pretzels in your sack. Your body generally has enough sodium in it for a 3-hour endurance Event, but you should replenish any time you need it especially if it’s hot.

This Sunday it will be warm and depending what time you finish it might even be Hot. Remember, are bodies haven’t really acclimated to training in the warm weather because it just recently started to warm up, so be prepared.

Also, take advantage of the rest stops throughout the race to hydrate appropriately if need be and eat some pretzels that will be at every rest station throughout the marathon. And most importantly, always make sure your Doctor has given you the green light for your race! Cheers!
