Pride Month

June is national Pride month! Join MoPRIDE, Inc. and the Central Valley Pride Center for our annual Pride in the Park on June 17th as we celebrate the past, present, and future of the Central Valley LGBTQ community. For the first time ever, Pride in the Park will be held at John Thurman Field from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for attendees 11 and older, and kids under 11 get in free! Free parking. This family-friendly event will feature a kids’ zone complete with face painting, magic show, and craft area, as well as a teen garden and a senior section. 6:00-8:00 p.m. is designated parental-supervision-only as entertainment is an adult drag show, but there will be tons of family-friendly performances throughout the day by artists such as Jordan Waters, Callbox, Ballet Folklorico, Lily Lemon, Cheer Sacramento, The PlayThings, Mina y Su Dinomita and Delta Work from Ru Paul’s Drag Race. The event will also showcase Central-Valley-area retail and nonprofit vendors that offer resources to the LGBTQ community and will be a great place to find out more about supports and services from medical and mental health care to LGBTQ-friendly churches. Proceeds from Pride in the Park help MoPRIDE, Inc. and the Central Valley Pride Center provide supportive programs like participant-specific peer-support groups, LGBTQ civil rights advocacy, mentorship, and suicide prevention.

Pride Month Events:
- June 2nd: Donnatella’s Haus of Drag Fundraiser. 9:00 p.m. at The Brave Bull.
- June 10th: Adult Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser. 12:30 p.m. Five people per team; $10 per person. $50 per team to enter. Contact Elena at elenacarrillocvpc@gmail.com to register by June 1st.
- Every 2nd and 4th The PLACE Youth Group. 7:00-9:00 p.m. at College Avenue Congregational Church in Modesto. The PLACE youth group is an LGBTQ group for youth ages 14-20, is a safe space to meet others, have fun, and be yourself. Come dressed in your favorite costume on June 8th for Cosplay bingo. - Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Momma Cantrell’s Bingo Fundraiser. Tiki Cocktail Lounge. Complimentary dinner at 7:00 p.m, bingo at 7:30 p.m. $5 per card or $20 for six cards.
- Every 3rd Monday. LGBT Bowling Night. 6:00 p.m. at McHenry Bowl. Mention MoPRIDE or the CVPC at the front desk.
