National Night Out is tonight!
This is a friendly reminder to join your block parties for National Night Out from 6 – 9 pm, schmooze with your neighbors, and Give Crime the Night Off!
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and to provide an opportunity to promote and celebrate police-community partnerships in crime prevention efforts.
From 6-9 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Modesto and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Many neighborhoods throughout Modesto will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, potlucks and games
In neighborhoods where neighbors know one another well, they are more likely to look out for one another, and take action when something is not right. If you don’t have a party to attend around your block you are welcome to join the parties on Highland Dr in the LaLoma Neighborhood or at Lakewood Park on Eastridge or the big group party at the Tuolumne River Lodge.
Bring food and drink to share.
Here are some great ideas for crafts and snacks.
