Rockabilly View

We have heard many times before about the roots of Rockabilly- where it has originated and with whom it originated with. Those roots are right here in Modesto; but this sound came from the south-early in the dust bowl days. There are so many different artists to be named from this great nation and abroad. This music is special to Modesto and anytime you can listen you should go and get up and dance.

I recently came across a talented group of gentlemen named Nathan Kalish from Nashville ,TN; Michael Hooper II from Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and Jimmy Duvall from Dallas, Texas. These three artists have come together to create the band, “Nathan Kalish and the Lastcallers.” Traveling the states- showing off their talents of country and rockabilly styles, more of an American Roots Music.

On August, 6th 2016 Nathan and his Lastcallers will be playing at Ralston’s Goat located at 1001 10th Street. Free show, 21Plus beginning at 8pm. Also, coming back from a bit of a musical break is Justin Quigley. Justin plays many instruments; some may know him for his stand up bass slappin’. Justin will be opening the show at 8pm.

It is always great to show your support to the arts and venues. This is what keeps our city going. Without the support we have nothing but cobwebs collecting and venues vanishing. We as promoters and business owners want to keep our city alive. While you are at it, get your hair cut at Modesto Rockabilly barber, Tony Trevino on 10th St. You will enjoy the experience and look really sharp when you go out to the show.

So go support the venues and artists and keep those dancing shoes on!
