Once, again Unity Music, Tony T. the Barber and guitarist/vocalist for The Pendletons and his lovely side kick Lauren T. did an amazing job with their Rockabilly, pin-up, Burlesque stage at XFest 2012. I want to thank them for doing a super fabulous job !! Can’t wait to for what they have in store for us next year. Keep your ears and eyes wide open for upcoming events with Unity Music, you will not be disappointed.
As many of you know The Refuzniks (another fantastic rockabilly band out of Modesto) has released a CD. You can purchase the cd and swag at CDBABY.com I personally suggest you grab a copy and put on your dancing shoes. It’s a superb, stylish, cool cat rockin’ CD. Devon Boyd, Chef Keith Breedlove and Mr. Mason are the tremendous trio of The Refuzniks. Maybe one day they will all perform here again…just keep those ears to the world and you might see a show.

Tony T. the Barber made a special appearance at Respect on the River Event put on by Mike and me. Alongside him on stage was Nathan Ignacio (bass), Ray Vizera (drums) and Richard Meeker (harmonica).. Man, Oh Man what a jam those fellas were busting out.
I wassuper excited that my husband booked Tony T. as a solo artist !! I spoke with Tony after his set and he was thrilled all those musicians stepped up to jam together…one other purpose for Respect on the River know your fellow campers and play together ! Awesome it was can’t wait for next years.
For us it was a busy, busy month of August with preparations for XFest, Respect on the River, we had a chance to have a surprise visit from my Columbia Missouri friends John Randall and Andy Rehm of the Hooten Hallers, they played an intimate acoustic show at Casa de Allsup. I truly believe that if you get achance to hear them play it is an uplifting, joyous experience. We will be hosting them here again in November at Thanksgiving. HOORAY!!!!!!!
Now, that August is coming to a most pleasurable end. Modesto Burners are gearing up for Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada for one week. There is about twenty Modesto Burners that ban together and help each other prepare for the crazy conditions on the Playa. My husband Mike Allsup started attending in 2000, I shortly followed in 2003 and look forward to going home every year! We camp with a theme camp called The Petting Zoo, address is 2:00 and Edleweiss. This years BM theme is Fertility. Burning Man is a creative arts festival with all walks of life from all over the world. Black Rock City, Nevada is the 3rd largest city for one week. When we all leave the desert we all LEAVE NO TRACE we were there. Tess and Devon Boyd (The Refuzniks) are burners as well. Unfortunately, they will not be going home this year. If you caught the Dancetronauts at XFest they are our Burner friends as well. Thank you James and Philip Plastina for joining us in Modesto.
Happy trails my default world until we return. Much love to you all
