RockView – Rock A Mania & Teamwork

RockView
By Nic Padilla

Well friends, it looks like the theme has been set for 2016 – teamwork and support. With promoters from all genres joining up for never before seen collaborations, there is a revived excitement to the central valley music scene. And with new venues popping up, ones that are able to host national touring bands, it’s a great time to be involved in the music and events in our area. We’ve already seen a few very successful co-promoted events this year. You’ll want to keep your eyes and your calendars open for more upcoming awesome mash ups!!

A strong example of this camaraderie is ROCKAMANIA. This event is slotted for Saturday, February 27th, at Fat Cat. Pitting Beat Happy Music against Beyond the Limits, a first of it’s kind punk vs rock show. Oh, and don’t forget that Pro Wrestling Bushido is joining the craziness. 6 bands, and wrestling… this will be insane! Will you see me get in the ring against Middagh?!? You’ll have to be there to find out.

Band Spotlight

Brokenote UnderTone is one of the most interesting bands around. Celebrating their Sophomore CD release this month – Hella Kinda, BrokeNote Undertone took everyone by surprise when they stormed onto the scene almost 4 years ago. Unable to fit in one genre, they combine punk rock with acoustic indie/folk, and they’re a little bit metal. Their passion for original music is inspiring, and their live shows are filled with energy. Head to Finnegan’s Irish Pub in Stockton on Feb 6th for their cd release show. Check them out live, and pick up a cd!!

With Lilana’s haunting vocals, and the shredding guitars of Markus and Brandon; Painting Chaos has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of Hit & Run. They started their career in 2015 playing with Trapt, P.O.D., Saving Abel, Aaranda, and more. Their live shows are compelling and moving, definitely a band that stands out above the rest. With lyrics as powerful as their music, and hints of Paramore and Evanescence thrown in there, these guys are absolutely a band to keep your eyes on.
