December Events at the Salida Library
If you are in need of the perfect holiday craft, would like to catch a Shakespearean performance, or attend a family movie night, then a visit to the Nick W. Blom Salida Regional Library is a must! Mark your calendar and be sure to be in attendance for all the library has to offer in December. The library begins the month with a Winter Craft Extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. Families can enjoy making a variety of festive, winter crafts together. Many items created could make wonderful holiday gifts. Attend a Book Club discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. December’s book is Specimen Days by Michael Cunningham. A limited number of copies are reserved for book club participants and are available for pick up at the information desk. The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival will present a community production of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at the library on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. The production will feature local, Stanislaus County residents working with a professional director from The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. This modified version of the play will be tailored for our community and the script will be adapted to fit a condensed format. The library will hold a Family Movie Night hosted by the Friends of the Salida Library on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. The featured movie will be Babes in Toyland and free popcorn will be provided. The library finishes off a month of fun with the Xtreme Science Magic Show on Monday, Dec. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Families will have the chance to enjoy a science-related show that will entertain and educate children of all ages!
