By Patty Castillo Davis
We love music.
I love that we are an event forward community with an abundance of choices.

Stevie Vasquez’s album release party on Friday, February 23 displays a lineup from The Who’s Who of Songwriters in the Modesto scene at the Queen Bean. The preshow is 3 pm the main event at 5 pm.
We love music. If we love it we must prove it in ways that will assure it survives and flourishes. Invest and support the Singer-Songwriter genre because though cerebral and powerful and beautiful, it lives organically in a brash, loud, laser-filled environment. Cultivate a posture that appreciates the venue that tries to give you different kinds of music, budget a tip into your evening out to give to the acoustic players who put in thousands of hours each year to put on a great performance for you, give invitations and opportunities to proven exceptional women-centric entertainment-for headlining events, opening for national artists, who don’t want a favor just an equal shot. You love music. Prove it.
