Sounds of the Valley Last Chance for MAMAnees

MAMAView: Sounds of the Valley Last Chance for MAMAnees
By Middagh Goodwin

As things slowly revert back to a semblance of normalcy we see more and more people going out to events. We are finding live music continuing at restaurants, cafes and local breweries with a few events here and there for good measure. We still need to see some designated music venues back in Modesto for things to truly come back like the glory days but that will take time and of course some with the money and passion to bring it to life.

Music in the Plaza is in the last month of the season so don’t miss a single Friday night in the 10th Street Plaza. The Knights Ferry Music Festival is back for year two with Beer Drinkers & Hellraisers, Whiskey Skulls, Triple D, Sundust and more out at the 50’s Roadhouse, Dazed on the Green is set to be one of the biggest concert events in the area and will be taking place out at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds on the 17th and 18th. It will feature some of the hottest names in Rock, Hip Hop, Punk and Metal along with a ton of locals playing on 3 stages. Sounds of Valley is back for year two as well on September 25th 12-8 pm and this time performing live and in the 10th Street Plaza featuring Horizon Point, Aware, Portraits of Elysia, High Street Blues Band, They Catch Secrets and more. This is a benefit for your community radio station KCBP 95.5 FM. Edible Extravaganza is live and in person once again on the 29th 5-9 pm and this time at Venue 833. Come sample some great food and enjoy the music of Koala & the Golden Boy and Triple D.

If you are in a band, are a promoter or a venue owner this is the time to get your choices considered for this year’s Modesto Area Music Awards show. Email all nominees to mamarecords209@gmail.com, please include genre and URL/Social Media links to help us narrow down the final 10. Voting for the Modesto Area Music Awards will be going live on September 14th and you will have a ton of great opportunities to see several MAMAnees at the events listed above. If you want a more intimate evening out, check out Chef’s of New York with live music at least 3 nights a week, the Dave Dow Jazz Jam at Ralston’s Goat on Thursday nights or Blue Monday twice a month at Urbano Bistro, Dragonfly Art for Life or Nino’s for regular performances. Check the ModestoView calendar and follow us on social media for more updates and added events. Keep going out and supporting our great local musicians and the businesses that host live local music. www.modestoareamusic.com
