Fall sports playoffs/sections recap to our Holiday Christmas Tournaments.
Football: Johansen varsity football team advanced to the playoffs this past season for the first time since 2008. Head coach Rod Smith Jr. of (18 years & 5 years as the head coach all at JOHO) quoted ” I am Blessed to be a part of this program!”
Girls flag football: Downey High School made their first playoff appearance finishing 8-7 in league, lost in the 1st round to Vacaville high school. The team was led by the following coaches, Justin Schwitters, Dennie Nixon & Jim Mcgrath.
Cross Country: Mohi team was lead by head coach, Martin Delira, the following athletes made it to sections, Ivan Rodriguez, Jocelyn Vasquez & Maya Wolfe
SOCCER:
Oakdale high school: Hosting the “Winter Soccer Showcase” on December 21st from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Head Coach, Kico Monares is going on year 3 with the girls’ varsity soccer program after winning back-to-back VOL titles. The showcase will feature Gregori, Oakdale, Manteca & Enochs programs.
Boys’ soccer: Pitman high school will be hosting JV & Varsity tournament on December 6-7th & Gregori will be hosting JV Boys Invitational December 13-14th.
BASKETBALL Boy’s & Girl’s Tournament’s:
Central Catholic High School: Mike Wilson (21 years head coaching the boys’ varsity program) is hosting the 5th annual Gallo Invitational December 12-14th.
Johansen High School: Will be hosting JV boy’s tournament aka Future of the Stars December 20-23rd & girls both JV & Varsity tournament December 26th-28th.
Gregori High School: Hosting the girl’s Freshman tournament on December 4-6th & a varsity tournament on December 12-14th.
Ripon High School: Will be hosting both girls’ Freshman & JV levels on December 26-28th.
Modesto Christian High School: Hosting its varsity boys Holiday Hoops tournament on December 26-30th.
