It’s hard to put into words the experience of the Star Wars premier here in Modesto; the first word that comes to mind is, epic. The fandom is completely one of a kind. Walking through tons of smiling faces and just genuinely happy people is something rare. These fans are die hards. We saw everyone; from Storm Troopers, to Leia’s, an awesome Boba Fett, Darth Vader and so much more. The crowd was absolutely electric. The ModestoView team was there to capture it all. We had people, including fans, taking pictures at every turn to capture each moment. People lined up during the daylight just to secure a good spot in the theater! A few people told me they had been out there since 2 (with the show not starting till 7)! B93 was promoting and playing music for everyone to enjoy. There were live performers who were incredibly talented (and also in cosplay). The storm troopers even seemed to enjoy it so much that a few began to break out in dance! Snow sprinkled down while everyone gushed in excitement and anticipation for a long awaited story filled the downtown air. I cannot say much about the movie, but I will say that it was even better than I personally could have dreamed it being. LucasFilms and Disney absolutely outdid themselves. I urge you all to see it, as if I even need to. This fan base cannot be stopped. They are dedicated, they are committed, and they are strong together. All I have to say for tonight, is goodnight, and may the force be with you!
