Reach The Beach On Friday July 18th many of us headed to The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to enjoy The Fixx for an off the hook concert.
Cy Curnin definitely delivered as well as the rest of the band, as they always do, at any one of their performances. The 2 shows, 6:30pm and 7:30pm were filled with high energy, great classic tunes along with much of The Fixx’s new music. I’m a Retro buff and surely I enjoyed the classics, but I kept finding myself really moving when they played songs from their 2012 album, Beautiful Friction. Songs like “Anyone Else,” “Beautiful Friction,” and my all time favorite new Fixx tune, “What God.” This song always gets my heart elevated with joy.
Cy Curnin is an amazing artist that articulates the songs he sings on stage with method as he was explains the songs using body but without really dancing. It’s obvious that he loves to perform for his fans and The Fixx often invites them to send in their request prior to any given show via their facebook fan page. I call it a Fixx’ed connection and they bust out his or hers request to the fan while on stage. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is your only source for fee concerts and affordable family fun entertainment. The free shows happen Friday nights and they have entertainment on the beach bandstand every Sunday through Thursday.
