The Latinx Comic Arts Festival Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary
By Dr. Theresa Rojas and Barbra Dillon
Celebrating its 5th anniversary, The Latinx Comic Arts Festival (LCAF) is returning to Modesto Junior College’s West Campus on March 22 and 23, 2024, for a free, family-friendly, 2-day comics convention! LCAF is the Central Valley’s celebration of Latino comic art creators and friends. We showcase some of the most talented people in the country, featuring cartoonists, writers, artists, animators, storyboard artists, comic arts educators, and more!
BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER! The Latinx Comic Arts Festival’s 5th-anniversary celebration will include more exhibitors, panel programming, and children’s crafting activities than ever before, and its annual lowrider event on Saturday, March 23, will showcase dozens of cars from the Central Valley’s most prestigious car clubs!
MEET THE CREATORS! Among our 2024 exhibitors will be the ever-popular Javier Hernandez (creator of El Muerto), award-winning cartoonist Cathy Camper (Lowriders in Space), Los Angeles-based publisher Fanbase Press (Eisner-nominated Quince, Int’l Latino Book Award-winning Nuclear Power), acclaimed artist Amber Padilla (The Secret Garden on 81 st Street, Sugar Coated), award-winning author Frederick Luis Aldama (Professor Latinx), Candy Briones (The Good, The Bad, and The Bunny), Carlos Saldaña (Burrito), Jaime Crespo (Corn Tortilla Press), Ruben Najara (The Best Archie Comic Ever), podcast team Comadres y Comics, Crystal Gonzalez (In the Dark), and many, more!
FREE TO ATTEND! Attendance and parking are free for this family-friendly event!
