Turlock Art Show Accepting Entries

Turlock City Arts Commission and Carnegie Arts Center Now Accepting Entries for Annual Juried Show

The Turlock City Arts Commission announces the call for entries to the Annual Spring Juried Art Show & Sale to be held at the Carnegie Arts Center. Artists may enter up to five works in the following categories: Oils & Acrylics, Photography, Sculpture, Drawing & Works on Paper, Mixed Media & Prints. The Best of Show award for this year’s grand prize winner will be $1,000. Cash awards will also be given to first, second, and third place winners in each category. The works selected for the exhibition will be on view in the Carnegie’s Ferrari Gallery from May 4 through June 30.

All entries must be submitted in digital format, either by email to the Carnegie Arts Center or on a CD; fees are $15 per entry for non-members, $10 per entry for Carnegie Arts Center members. All entries must be received at the Carnegie Arts Center by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Complete rules and details for submitting entries are available on the Carnegie website, www.CarnegieArtsTurlock.org, at the Carnegie Arts Center office, and at Turlock City Hall.

Jurors for the exhibition this year are: John Barnett, celebrated sculptor and recipient of the Carnegie’s 2013 Distinguished Artist retrospective exhibition (currently on view through April 28); Rex Klein, photographer, businessman and founder of the Turlock Community Art Gallery (132 S. Center Street); and Tinna Harter Savini, internationally-exhibited painter and educator.
