ValentineView – Get Your Romance Together

ValentineView
By Chris Murphy

There is always time for some romance. A quick date with your wife, partner or significant other is always possible. Don’t save your romance just for Valentine’s Day. There are little things you can do that have the look of love, a cool mix with Dusty Springfield, Zero 7 or Concrete Blond, bottle of wine, flowers when not expected or even just a morning love note. Don’t wait until the 14th to show those that you love, that you love them. But here are a few things happening that will make your Valentine’s Day that much better. If you are going to go out on the 14th, better book it fast and order your flowers.

Marriage at the Mansion
February 14 – 906 15th St
9 am – 4 pm

This will be a fantastic day of weddings at the McHenry Mansion. This is Modesto’s house and the setting is perfect for a spring wedding. Stanislaus County Clerk / Recorder / Commissioner of Civil Marriages, Lee Lundrigan and staff perform civil marriage ceremonies in English and Spanish on Valentine’s Day. “Marriage at the Mansion” offers each couple a romantic experience that will take them back in time.
All ceremonies are individualized and the Mansion Gift Shop will be open with a Valentine theme; and local businesses are donating gifts. Wedding photos can be purchased. There is no flash photography in the Mansion to preserve the valuable antiques. Couples must sign up in advance through the Clerk Recorder’s Office at 209-525-5250 or call 209-525-5230 for assistance in Spanish.

Marriage licenses must be purchased and appointments made in advance at the Clerk Recorder’s Office located at 1021 “I” Street in downtown Modesto. Cost of the license and ceremony is $121 or $126 for confidential marriage licenses. Certified marriage certificates are an additional $15 and must be paid by check. No blood test is required. Guests are limited to 15 for each wedding, and children must be age 12 or older to attend in the Mansion.
