Victims’ rights focus of downtown Modesto march

MODESTO — The Stanislaus County district attorney’s office Victim Services program and the Stanislaus Family Justice Center will host an event Saturday in downtown Modesto as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., starts with a march led by the Beyer High School marching band from the courthouse lawn at 1100 I Street to the Stanislaus Family Justice Center at 1625 I Street.

The event will feature guest speaker Debbie Johnson from “Without Permission,” a Modesto- based nonprofit group working against human trafficking.

There will be a complimentary hot dog lunch for attendees and booths with information on available services from several county agencies and community groups.
