Zen View Endurance
By Mary Layton
The Zen View has become so Zen it dissolved into thin air in the hot month of July. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…Endurance. My mind seems to surrender a little more easily in hot weather.
I slow down. Think of what really is priority. Actually, thanks to the heat I become more sensible.
It’s a survival thing.
The heat also makes me dream. Of people coming together to do fun stuff. Singing with people in a cool place. Weaving baskets under a shady tree.
Drumming, barefoot, dancing, feeling free. Painting, writing, community gardening. And counting our blessings.
It is neat that thanks to the Modesto View we now have a platform to communicate ideas, share our talents. Show up. A great way to make us realize that we have already a lot of good stuff here.. and more good stuff to come.
