Time to be Grateful
Once again it’s the month of Thanksgiving. For many people in this country there will be the traditional food feast with all the fixings to go with it. Families and friends come together to celebrate the love for life and its bounty. In these tumultuous and uncertain times a tradition like Thanksgiving is a welcome pause from the busyness of our daily lives. We have some time to relax, enjoy and remember what truly matters. Life has been bringing more challenges to most everyone and it matters that we get along with each other, appreciate others and be the most accepting people that we can be. Even within our families and circle of friends it can be hard to see eye to eye at times, but I think it is when we can accept each others differences that we can be stronger together and more resilient in the long run. It’s easy to take things for granted… but feeling gratitude is what can put a completely different spin on life. Suddenly we feel there’s hope.
This year I want to give thanks to everything that is good and beautiful in my life. I’m grateful for our students that have shared their knowledge, expertise and kindness with us so generously. I am grateful for all the health professionals in our school as well as in our community. I love that our stores and markets and restaurants offer diverse tastes. I am grateful for my neighbors, my family and friends who I can always count on. I am very grateful to live in this fertile valley and in this town that has so much to offer and is getting more attractive every year.
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
