The Year of the Goat
Because the Chinese follow the lunar calendar, Chinese New Year will be celebrated on Febraury 19th.
Festivities usually go on for 10 days with lots of eating, drinking and noisy firecrackers. Up until Feb 19th,it is still the Year of the Horse, a year of great speed and energy. If you felt like you’ve
been running a race all of last year with time just whizzing by you can relax now.
2015 is the Year of the Goat (also known as Sheep). Things will progress at a slower and more gentle
pace, allowing time to make peace with oneself as well as others. The goat is supposed to bring out lots of creativity and imagination. Good for the arts and aesthetic ventures.
The Goat has been a beloved subject of painters, like Picasso and Chagall. It’s a fascinating animal. The eyes of the goat seem strange because the pupil is not round but oval. Goats are otherworldly and mysterious. I wonder how they perceive the world! With their unusual but elegant looks and strange behavior ( goats like to climb trees) they inspire us to dare go off the beaten path.
